Who we are

VocaShot (“we”, “us”) is a camera-first language-learning app operated by Decennium Platforms Limited. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. Questions: simon@decennium.app.

Information we collect

Account info — email address, display name, and profile photo you provide when you sign up.
Photos & captures — images you take or choose, and the vocabulary entries generated from them.
Learning data — words saved, reviews, streaks, levels, and earned in-app currency (Flashes).
Usage & device data — app interactions, crash logs, and basic device information for reliability.
Audio — short voice recordings you make for pronunciation practice (processed for scoring; not used for ads).

How we use it

To provide the core experience (turn photos into vocabulary cards, review, social features), to operate the rewards/gamification system, to keep the service safe and reliable, and to improve features. AI processing (e.g. Google Gemini) is used to analyze captures and generate learning content.

Service providers

We use Google Firebase (authentication, database, storage, messaging, analytics, crash reporting) and Google Cloud / Gemini for AI. Payments for optional purchases (e.g. printed products, web subscription) are processed by Stripe. These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms.

What we do NOT do

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your private captures or voice recordings to target advertising. Optional rewarded ads, if shown, do not receive your private content.

Children

VocaShot is intended for users aged 13 and older. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Your choices

You can edit or delete your captures and account at any time in the app. To request full account deletion or a copy of your data, contact simon@decennium.app. Data is encrypted in transit.

We may update this policy; material changes will be posted here with a new “last updated” date.
